Is there such a thing as “vintage instrument craving disorder”? Because we’re pretty sure we caught it watching this video from the New York duo Skeye! Our symptoms include:
Involuntary drooling over the natural tear on a 1970’s Strat’s maple neck; an obsessive need to touch the nicotine darkened keys on a Hammond B3; vivid fantasies of playing drumrolls on a vintage Ludwig snare. OMG is that a Rhodes!? And a Farfisa organ!?
Yup, these guys sure have got the right equipment.
Truth be told, the only thing that has kept our envy from spinning out of control is the fact that these guys totally rock! From the singer’s characteristic voice, over the skillful balancing of several instruments, to the good looking video. Bravo.
Apart from that, we absolutely love the way Skeye uses our new Ditto Mic Looper to create a captivating intro to the well-crafted song. Yup, Ditto sure is in fine company among rare instruments and talented musicians.
Now, if you’ll excuse us, we have to go and see a doctor about that vintage instrument craving disorder. In the meantime, why don’t you check out the new Ditto Mic Looper?
